Our BFI Film Academy, is open to all with a special focus on creating a supportive and inclusive environment for disabled and neuro-divergent young people.
Do you love watching or making films?
Will you be 16-19 years old by 1st November 2024 or 20-25years old with an EHCP?
Would you like to shoot and star in your own film, in a film industry work environment?
Our next award-winning BFI Film Academy Short Course starts in November 2024!
We have 12 FREE places available!
No experience is necessary!
Learn how to use a camera, record sound, film on location, edit and create a music soundtrack.
Work as a team to create your very own short film
Travel and Access bursaries are also available
The Film Academy starts on Friday 1st November 2024
Please note: if you have taken part in our BFI Film Academy before, this means that you are not eligible to apply to take part in this Film Academy.
To apply for a place you must attend a Taster & Application session.
Taster and Application sessions are FREE fun, hands-on workshops
They take place on Sunday 13th October 2024
There are 2 Taster sessions available and each one lasts 2hrs and 15min
You only need to attend ONE!
All sessions take place in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.
